The Cross Keys is one of Knutsford’s oldest Inns – however it’s age is difficult to pinpoint. The Cross Keys Hotel may well date date back to 1642, when a survey of the time recorded 42 taverns in Knutsford !

A map dating back to 1786, shows the Cross Keys as being part of Lord Egerton estate. For many years the Barrow family ran the Inn – the 1841 census shows 30 year old Hanna Barrow as Innkeeper, assisted by her sisters Jane, 23 and Anne aged 20.
For the visitor, there is a wealth of local attractions, including Tatton Park and it’s historic house and 1000 acres of park land.
